My Image

For my image, I took picture at home outside.  The mirror stands in the centre of the flower terrace.  This mirror can reflected my body and my face.  My home was right off a main road, and we could see a parking lot and some garbage can. I could see many cars plying the streets. Sometimes I could find deliveryman standing in my home outside.  The express-delivery cars shuttle back and forth in the streets.  I could see some people sited down, waiting for friend and family.  I also could see reception manager talked with resident at the door. It is about the Witham Wharf’s life. It memories the life of the Witham Wharf’s street.I decided to used street photography with self portrait. This image was taken in natural light. There were some plants and stones in this image. It saw that it was a clean street. I did’t choose to used black-and-white photograph. It was look more interesting.

The second image- I used window reflected my body.  I choose the natural light.  The window’s size almost invariably symmetrical. The wall was white, so my shadow stand out in comparison with others.

The last image – My roommate raised a mirror and I took photo. The mirror reflected my body and face. I edited image by Photoshop software. The background out of focus. It just focused  my face. It could highlight myself.

I took picture in the dump. Everyone dumped their garbage in the dump, but I did’t look carefully. One day, I took out the trash with my friend, I suddenly felt the dump is a good location. So I choose dump became my location. The dump was low light and white concrete walls. At first, my friend was very shy and his face very serious. Actually my friend was a very funny man in the life, so I choose to some prop on his head and others hold it in his hand. He looks like a warrior. It was more interesting. He also not felt embarrassed.

Danny Santos

Danny’s subject was not smile. He wanted to capture their face in the most natural state, making the portrait more interesting. When he took the photo, he did’t ask for their names,  where they came from and what they do, because he just wanted the viewers to see them how other peoples saw them: as beautiful strangers.
